What should I expect from my primary care physician?

Your primary care physician is a trusted expert you can rely upon to help you treat or manage health issues before they become more serious — or even prevent them in the first place.

Can I see a medical provider in-person?

LifeMD is a telehealth company. We offer a convenient, easy-to-use website and app for patients to access licensed medical providers from across their smartphone or computer screen. Patients can get a diagnosis, prescription initiation or refill, lab order, and more — all without leaving home.

What if I need to go to the hospital?

LifeMD virtual appointments are not intended for use in medical emergencies or for certain health conditions. If you are experiencing a critical or life-threatening medical issue, please call 911 or go to the emergency room immediately.

Can I get a lab order through LifeMD?

Yes, as a LifeMD member, you can get a lab referral sent directly to your patient portal by your doctor or nurse practitioner. LifeMD has trusted lab partners across the U.S., enabling discounts up to 95% for many LifeMD members.

Does LifeMD offer STD testing?

Yes. If your doctor or nurse practitioner believes that an STD test is warranted, they can order it for you. After receiving the lab order, you'll visit a lab location near you and have your lab test(s) run. The results will be sent to your LifeMD patient portal.

Can my provider prescribe medications?

Yes, licensed doctors and nurse practitioners can write medically necessary prescriptions to be picked up at the pharmacy of your choice. And with the LifeMD Prescription Discount Card — available exclusively to LifeMD members — you can save up to 92% on your prescription medications.

Please note: While LifeMD affiliated providers are able to provide prescription initiations or prescription refills on most medications, they do not provide prescription initiations or prescription refills on controlled substances.

What is LifeMD’s policy on prescribing controlled substances?

While LifeMD affiliated providers are able to provide prescription initiations or prescription refills on most medications, they do not provide prescription initiations or prescription refills on controlled substances.

Please refer to the full list of controlled substances prior to making your appointment. LifeMD does not offer refunds for appointments where controlled substance initiations or refills are requested, but not fulfilled.

Can I receive a doctor’s note or other medical forms?

Yes, you can receive a doctor’s note for up to 2 days maximum of short-term work absence. Currently, we do not complete any other forms such as jury duty release forms, FMLA forms, emotional support animal forms, etc.

How fast can I get a consultation?

Yes. LifeMD+ members benefit from annual and specialty lab testing through Labcorp or Quest Diagnostics to help you track and manage your health markers. Your LifeMD care team can send a lab order directly to your LifeMD patient portal.

Lab orders required or requested by a LifeMD-affiliated provider as part of a specialty program (e.g., weight management) are at no cost to you (if completed at a Quest Diagnostics or Labcorp lab.) For labs not covered by LifeMD, options standardly include utilizing insurance or paying out-of-pocket (discounted rates may be available).

Please keep in mind that due to state regulations, LifeMD cannot cover lab service costs for patients residing in NY, NJ, and RI; these patients (or their insurance) will be billed by the lab directly.

Membership is $19/month with access to video visits ($50 cash or your copay). Labs can be covered by insurance; message consults are $20.

How do GLP-1 medications work?

GLP-Is are groundbreaking medications that have shown remarkable results in clinical studies. GLP-1 medications help regulate and improve the body's weight loss factors - such as blood sugar response and insulin. By changing these factors, the gut will send signals to the brain to improve metabolic function and regulate digestion and appetite, helping patients feel fuller, longer. In studies, patients lost up to 15-20% of their body weight* using branded GLP-1 medication.

How much weight do people lose with GLP-1s?

In clinical studies, patients lost up to 15-20% of their body weight* using branded GLP-1s. Our easy-to-use Al tool provides you with a personalized estimate based on your current weight. See how much weight you can lose!

What can I expect after I sign up?

After you complete your online visit, a LifeMD-affiliated healthcare provider will review your answers and determine whether treatment is right for you. If approved, lab testing follows. Then, your medical provider will review your lab results and discuss a personalized treatment plan with you.

What does insurance cover?

Insurance services for the cost of medications are provided through the LifeMD GLP-1 weight loss programs. Our partners will work directly with your insurance provider to help with the process of determining coverage for your GLP-1 medication, which is paid for separately from the LifeMD programs.

LifeMD does not accept insurance for its GLP-1 weight loss programs, but your insurance may help cover the cost of medication. At this time, those with any form of government healthcare coverage (including programs such as Medicare, Medicaid or TRICARE), whether primary or secondary, or government-related coverage such as Medicare Supplement Plans, are not eligible for LifeMD GLP-1 weight loss programs, as these plans typically do not cover the type of medication LifeMD programs may prescribe.

What if my insurance doesn’t cover the medication?

If for some reason your insurance will not cover the cost of your medication, you'll have the option to either pay for the medication out of pocket or cancel your LifeMD GLP-1 weight loss program membership. Given the cost of initial diagnostics, ongoing provider support, and insurance assistance, we are unable to offer refunds for previously incurred monthly membership fees.

What is Triple Therapy?

Triple Therapy is a doctor-trusted treatment plan that consists of three medications (Metformin, Bupropion, and Topiramate) combined in carefully selected doses, with the aim of supporting your weight loss goals.

Who is eligible for Triple Therapy vs the GLP-1 program

The Triple Therapy program is intended for patients who do not meet the BMI requirements to start a GLP-1 program but still seek help managing their weight. The BMI threshold for GLP-1s without a comorbidity is 30. Anyone with a BMI of 25 or greater may be eligible for the Triple Therapy medication pack. Triple Therapy is an all-inclusive price of $129/month.

How do you use Triple Therapy?

Take the prescribed pills each day as directed by your LifeMD-affiliated healthcare provider. For the first 30 days, most patients are instructed to take their three pills, once a day, with or without food. After 30 days, many patients are instructed to take three pills twice a day (a total of six pills in total). Your provider will provide more specific instructions on when and how to use your treatment.

What are the advantages of Triple Therapy?

There are many benefits to using Triple Therapy as part of your weight loss journey. Here are three of the numerous reasons patients like this treatment:

It’s an oral treatment. No need for needles, wipes, or additional supplies. Simply take the prescribed pills each day — and you're set!

It’s cost-effective. A Triple Therapy subscription — which includes the cost of medication — is typically significantly less expensive than monthly costs associated with GLP-1 therapy, helping you save money while managing your health.

It’s accessible. Patients who don’t medically qualify for prescription GLP-1 medications like Wegovy may still qualify for Triple Therapy.

What is the process of getting Triple Therapy?

First, complete a free, online medical intake form. Then, you can join the LifeMD Weight Management Program (if you are a candidate) and schedule an appointment with a LifeMD-affiliated healthcare provider. If appropriate, they will prescribe treatment. Note: Labs are encouraged, but not required before you are initially prescribed treatment.

What is the LifeMD Women's Health Program?

LifeMD offers a personalized, evidence-based approach to women navigating perimenopause or menopause. The program is designed to help relieve symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, brain fog, mood changes, and decreased libido — while supporting long-term health and well-being with access to care for weight management, sleep, bone health, and more.

A licensed healthcare provider will create a treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals. Your care will include prescription HRT (when appropriate), secure messaging with your LifeMD care team, regular check-ins to assess your progress, and access to tools that support healthy aging — all from the convenience of your phone or computer. Medications included, if clinically appropriate, are one form of estradiol medication (patch, insert, or gel) and micronized progesterone if needed. The cost of an estradiol vaginal ring may vary and is not included with the program fee.

Whether you're noticing early changes or have already transitioned through menopause, the LifeMD offers flexible, expert-led care built around you.

What conditions does the program treat?

LifeMD offers specialized treatment to address common symptoms associated with perimenopause and menopause — including hot flashes, night sweats, brain fog, mood changes, and decreased libido — while supporting long-term health and well-being with access to care for weight management, sleep, bone health, and more.

What is HRT?

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is a treatment that replaces the hormones — primarily estrogen and progesterone — that decline in a woman's body during perimenopause and menopause. HRT may help relieve common symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, mood changes, and/or vaginal dryness.

How do I know if HRT is right for me?

To determine whether hormone therapy (HRT) is appropriate for you, you'll meet with a licensed healthcare provider who will review your symptoms, your overall health profile, and your preferences regarding treatment. If you're experiencing bothersome symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, or mood changes — and your provider determines that HRT is clinically appropriate — it may be recommended as part of your treatment plan.

What's included in the LifeMD Women's Health Program?

The program includes provider consultations, a personalized treatment plan, secure messaging, prescription management, and the cost of medication if prescribed.

How is my treatment plan personalized?

Your treatment plan is tailored to you — your symptoms, medical history, goals, and personal preferences. Your LifeMD-affiliated provider takes all of this into account to make sure your care feels both safe and supportive. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions; your plan is designed with your unique needs in mind.

What medications may be prescribed?

Medications that may be considered are estradiol, micronized progesterone, and thyroid replacement if necessary. The hormones prescribed through LifeMD are bioidentical, meaning they have the same chemical and molecular structure as the hormones naturally produced by your body. Customized programs may include different strengths, routes, and dosing schedules for medications. Your provider will work with you to determine the most appropriate option(s) based on your symptoms, preferences, and medical history.
