Doxycycline hyclate is absorbed in the body as soon as two to three hours after ingestion. Still, it may take at least 48 hours to see symptoms gradually go away.
Doxycycline hyclate is available in multiple dosages ranging from 25 to 150 milligrams (mg) in capsule, tablet, or liquid form. A healthcare provider may first prescribe adult patients 100 mg every 12 hours on the first day before reducing the dosage to 100 mg daily. Recommended dosages may vary depending on the type of infection being treated.
It’s not recommended to drink alcohol while taking doxycycline hyclate (Vibramycin).
