What is enalapril?

Enalapril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACE) used to treat high blood pressure and heart failure. It helps to open up blood vessels to pump blood to the heart. Enalapril is the active ingredient in the brand name medication Vasotec or Epaned. It’s typically used to treat congestive heart failure in adults. Enalapril is an oral, injection, and tablet medication taken daily. You do not need to take this medication with food.

How does enalapril work?

It works by opening the blood vessels to improve blood flow to the heart.

How do I know if I qualify for enalapril?

A healthcare provider will assess your overall health status, health history, and any current symptoms you may be experiencing before prescribing enalapril. Enalapril is prescribed for those with high blood pressure.
