LifeMD vs. Ro

From the medications they offer to how their programs work – including cost and support options – each company has its own way of helping you lose weight. If you’re trying to decide between them, we’re breaking down the key differences so you can see which one best fits your needs.
Weight Loss Medications: LifeMD vs. Ro
LifeMD weight loss injections
LifeMD offers access to GLP-1 medications to help qualifying patients achieve their weight loss goals. Combined with clinical oversight, metabolic testing, and ongoing support from licensed healthcare providers, GLP-1 medications can help patients lose 15-20% of their body weight.
GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) receptor agonists work by mimicking a natural hormone that helps regulate appetite and blood sugar. This helps you feel fuller for longer, curb cravings, and support steady weight loss. Here are some of the brand name GLP-1s LifeMD offers:
Ozempic®: Ozempic (semaglutide) is FDA-approved to treat type 2 diabetes, but it can be prescribed off-label to support weight loss.
Wegovy®: With the same active ingredient as Ozempic (semaglutide), Wegovy is a FDA-approved weight loss medication that helps control appetite and support long-term weight management.
Mounjaro®: Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is an FDA-approved medication to treat type 2 diabetes, but it can be prescribed off-label to support weight loss when combined with diet and exercise.
Saxenda®: Saxenda is an FDA-approved weight loss medication that contains liraglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist that helps control appetite and support weight management.
Zepbound®: Zepbound is an FDA-approved weight loss medication that contains tirzepatide to help regulate appetite and support weight management. Zepbound is available in two forms: vials and pens. The Zepbound vial is a single-dose option for self-pay patients without insurance coverage, shipped directly to their door. The Zepbound pen contains the same medication in a prefilled, ready-to-use format. Just like the pricing model, the dosage options differ between the vial and pen, offering flexibility depending on the patient's needs.
Ozempic, Wegovy, and Zepbound are all once-weekly injectable weight loss treatments, while Saxenda is taken daily. These medications are designed for individuals with obesity or those who are overweight with weight-related health conditions. This helps to regulate appetite and support weight loss. While all are effective, the best choice for you may depend on factors like potential side effects, cost, and accessibility.
LifeMD weight loss pills
As part of the LifeMD Weight Management Program, LifeMD offers an all-inclusive Triple Therapy plan. It combines three effective oral medications – metformin, bupropion, and topiramate – to support weight loss through multiple pathways.
Metformin improves insulin sensitivity and helps regulate blood sugar, which may reduce fat storage and appetite.
Bupropion influences neurotransmitters that control cravings, energy levels, and mood, helping people stay motivated and make healthier choices.
Topiramate further suppresses appetite, enhances satiety, and can even reduce cravings for high-calorie foods.
Together, these medications create a comprehensive approach designed to support long-term weight management. It should be noted that these medications cannot be prescribed or used in combination with any GLP-1 medications.
Ro weight loss medications
Ro offers their customers doctor-trusted weight loss treatment options as well. Available prescription weight loss injections through Ro as of March of 2025 include:
Zepbound vial
Zepbound pen
Ozempic
Wegovy
Saxenda

The Ro Body Program offerings
The Ro Body program is designed to help its members achieve weight loss through personalized care and medication management. After an online assessment, Ro-affiliated healthcare providers evaluate patients’ medical history and weight loss goals to determine GLP-1 medication eligibility. The membership includes ongoing support, giving members continuous access to healthcare providers for on-demand messaging, personalized medication adjustments, tools to track progress, and expert guidance throughout their weight loss journey.
The LifeMD GLP-1 program starts as low as $75 per month when you select the annual plan, with the flexibility to cancel anytime. This price includes expert clinician consultations, personalized prescriptions, dedicated coaching, and essential lab work (if you haven't completed the required tests within the last 12 months). The cost of the medication is not included in this price.
The LifeMD Triple Therapy plan is an all-inclusive price of $129 per month, including care and the cost of medication.
LifeMD’s partners work directly with patients in the Weight Management Program to navigate insurance coverage. LifeMD accepts insurance to cover the cost of care in a growing number of states. Moreover, whether you are a cash-paying or insurance patient of the LifeMD GLP-1 program, your insurance may help cover the cost of medication. LifeMD helps patients determine whether their medication may be covered by checking benefits and assisting with prior authorizations.
As of April 2025, traditional Medicare patients in many states are able to use their Medicare benefits to cover the cost of care with LifeMD. LifeMD is also working to expand access to additional government and private insurance options to cover the cost of care.
The Ro Body membership starts at $45 for the first month, then $145 for the remaining months of membership. The cost of GLP-1 medication isn’t included in the membership and will depend on the patient’s treatment and insurance coverage. To help with affordability, Ro provides insurance concierge services, working directly with insurance providers to determine medication coverage. However, Ro does not accept insurance for the Body membership itself, which is cash-pay only.
Those with government healthcare coverage, including Medicare, Medicaid, and TRICARE, are not eligible for the program, as these plans typically do not cover GLP-1 medications. Federal employees with FEHB insurance may still participate. If insurance does not cover the prescribed medication, members can either opt for cash-pay options or cancel their membership at any time.
